okay okay I've been lax in the whole blogging thing. but to be fair and honest some of that time I did have a job....So here's an update.
Nick has decided to put the business on the back burner and find a job to help out with other things that need to be done. He's not thrilled about the idea but he understands that he's an adult and has to make adult decision.
Alan is doing well in school and has decided that when he grows up he wants to be a pirate. I'm watching my little man grow into a man and I don't know how I'm taking it just yet. He and I have a special bond that has never broken. Even though he doesn't live with me anymore it's still there. Hell I think it's even stronger now. When he does come up he enjoys going to church and Sunday school, and he enjoys getting to see the family. I can't wait for him to come up and spend some real time with us.
Jacob...well Jacob has made some progress here lately I'm really kind of excited. he's maturing a bit which is something I've been hopeful for. But he's also been trying ....NEW FOODS! Let me explain for those of you who wouldn't know the constant fights I've had with the boy. My 5 year old son, would only eat Chicken Nuggets (and they had to be from Micky D's or the Dino nuggets), mac and cheese, yogurt, ice cream, chocolate, cereal, hot dogs/corn dogs, grilled cheese, and PB& J sandwiches. that was the extent of my child's menu. I'd become a short order cook, cooking for Nick and I what we wanted and having to fix something else for Jacob and Catherine (she would only eat what bubba was eating). We'd tried everything everyone suggested, putting it into his mouth forcefully, making him eat it for every meal till it was gone, ect. Nothing worked. Well I'd finally had it last week. I was done. He was refusing to eat something that I knew if he would try it he would like. Raisins. He was eating a trail mix and he wasn't going to eat the raisins or the sunflower seeds. Well I wasn't that concerned about the seeds, but By golly he was going to eat the raisins. So I told him he eats a raisin or he eats soap. He said he'd take the soap so I put some on my finger and smeared it on his tongue. He decided he didn't think those raisins were all that bad. So he ate them and now he eats raisins. We've done it with corn (which we can now say he doesn't like corn, because he's tried and still doesn't like it), carrots (which he's eaten for several meals and has decided he likes raw carrots GO US!!!), ravioli's. And he's only had to eat soap like twice! I'm so impressed. Oh and he tried a TV dinner chicken fried steak. He didn't like it. but he ate the whole thing so next time we might try a home cooked one with less pepper on it. BUT the fact is he's EATING other things and trying them out. I'm very excited and happy about this. So YAY Jacob!!!
Catherine is talking more and becoming more and more stubborn and ...well I don't know what else. She can still be my Sweet baby girl and I love her more every time she comes up to me and looks me in my eyes...but then she goes around and does something that makes me want to yank my hair out. She is my angel with enough devil in her to drive a saint to drink. And she's mine. As my mother pointed out to me the other day when I was lamenting on the fact that my daughter doesn't seem to want to listen to anyone...She is her mother's daughter. And I swear if I had her looks I could rule this world. She can walk into a room and captivate it, if she show chooses. I really think that when she starts going to fair, we're going to have to make her a fairy princess or a princess of some sort. Otherwise she's just not going to be happy.
okay I'm done for this morning...I'll try to get on and blog more often

Another Update
So this weekend we got to spend time with Alan. He had a lot of fun on his trip. For those of you who don't know...he spent 3 weeks overseas in Wales and Paris. I've got a few of his pictures and as soon as one of us remembers to bring them to Grammie and Papa's house then I'll scan and post them. He got to go to the Louvre. He saw the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, those seem to be the two pieces he was the most impressed with. They also went to Disney World Paris. He said that they walked around Wales and also took a little plane ride and took pictures of castles. He seemed to really like it and I'm happy that he had this opportunity.
Jacob has been working on writing his name and letters. I've said that I want him to spend more time writing and learning the things he needs to know before he goes to Kindergarden. We bought him workbooks, one is Kindergarten Basics, which has a lot of different stuff. It has stuff like shape reconginiton, which is the same, writing numbers, ect. and then we also got a lowercase alphabet book for him to practice his letters. I need to go online, when it's not lighting out, and print up some pages to practice him writing his name on them. I really wish I didn't have to work so that I could stay home with him and help...but he's got the next best thing...His Aunt KK. She said that she would keep him doing the papers. I really hope this does work and I know KK will stay on him and make sure that he accomplishes stuff. We also learned today that if it has music to it then it makes him calm down and pay attention to what is being sung/done to music.
Catherine is doing well, she's talking more and will now tell you where her nose, eyes, teeth, mouth. She also to have conversations more often now. Not a whole lot of gibberish in her talk anymore...which I'm kind of excited about. We need to work on her potty training and once that's done then she'll be doing pretty good.
well I think I'm about done for now I'll blog some more later

a family update
well a family update (at least a short one)
Mommy- is still trying to find a job...but you can read about that on her myspace page.
Daddy - is doing his thing and he'll have to update you on that. because well let's face it I'm just not all with about it.
Alan - just got back from his trip, I should have him next weekend and I can update you more about his trip...hopefully he'll have pictures I can scan in and add to an album.
Jacob- well he's growing in leaps and bounds still. I've realised lately how far behind he has been in his language. I think I'm going to go digging in Pooh's closet and get out the kindergarden workbooks I've bought before and he's going to have at least an hour a day to work on these pages. He'll be starting K in the fall and I want him to be ready. I'm also going to have to start sitting down and spending more time with him and reading. He has the intrest we just need to encourage it.
Catherine - well the princess is dealing with a lot of things...but she still is astounding me left and right. She is talking a lot more than the boys did, that is when she talks. She has a great uncle that calls her the silent one, because she very rarely speaks and when she does she uses this soft voice that makes it almost impossible to hear her. And well she's hitting the terrible 2's in full force. She won't listen and likes to strike a pose and back talk me. she has also developed a horrible habit of hitting her brother to get whatever it is he has. I'm really hoping that when we do get our own place...I can give her, her own room and we can seperate all the toys. Maybe then she realize that there are some toys that are hers and others are not.
Okay well it's time to get ready for church...blog you all later!!

Our First Blog
Well we have recently moved from Bryan, Texas to Longview. A just left on Saturday for a 3 week trip to Paris and Wales, we really hope he'll bring back some amazing pictures, I forgot to grab his digital camera to take with him. We are currently staying with Grammie and Papa / KK & Robin . Pooh just moved back home from OK. We are all just trying to get our feet under us so that we can keep things rolling. Mom's looking for work and looking at what classes she'll be able to take come the summer time. I think that it might cool for J and Mom to start school at the same time...So I may put it off till the fall so that he understands that it's important. We can't believe that January is almost over...it's very odd that this time is flying by so fast. In a couple of weeks it will be Mom & Dad's 7th wedding anniversary. who can believe it...It doesn't seem like 7 years that we've been married but I guess time does fly when you are having fun.
Well seeing as it's already 12:21...AM I think we need to hit the hay. Stay tuned for the next blog
