wow over a month

okay okay I've been lax in the whole blogging thing. but to be fair and honest some of that time I did have a job....So here's an update.
Nick has decided to put the business on the back burner and find a job to help out with other things that need to be done. He's not thrilled about the idea but he understands that he's an adult and has to make adult decision.
Alan is doing well in school and has decided that when he grows up he wants to be a pirate. I'm watching my little man grow into a man and I don't know how I'm taking it just yet. He and I have a special bond that has never broken. Even though he doesn't live with me anymore it's still there. Hell I think it's even stronger now. When he does come up he enjoys going to church and Sunday school, and he enjoys getting to see the family. I can't wait for him to come up and spend some real time with us.
Jacob...well Jacob has made some progress here lately I'm really kind of excited. he's maturing a bit which is something I've been hopeful for. But he's also been trying ....NEW FOODS! Let me explain for those of you who wouldn't know the constant fights I've had with the boy. My 5 year old son, would only eat Chicken Nuggets (and they had to be from Micky D's or the Dino nuggets), mac and cheese, yogurt, ice cream, chocolate, cereal, hot dogs/corn dogs, grilled cheese, and PB& J sandwiches. that was the extent of my child's menu. I'd become a short order cook, cooking for Nick and I what we wanted and having to fix something else for Jacob and Catherine (she would only eat what bubba was eating). We'd tried everything everyone suggested, putting it into his mouth forcefully, making him eat it for every meal till it was gone, ect. Nothing worked. Well I'd finally had it last week. I was done. He was refusing to eat something that I knew if he would try it he would like. Raisins. He was eating a trail mix and he wasn't going to eat the raisins or the sunflower seeds. Well I wasn't that concerned about the seeds, but By golly he was going to eat the raisins. So I told him he eats a raisin or he eats soap. He said he'd take the soap so I put some on my finger and smeared it on his tongue. He decided he didn't think those raisins were all that bad. So he ate them and now he eats raisins. We've done it with corn (which we can now say he doesn't like corn, because he's tried and still doesn't like it), carrots (which he's eaten for several meals and has decided he likes raw carrots GO US!!!), ravioli's. And he's only had to eat soap like twice! I'm so impressed. Oh and he tried a TV dinner chicken fried steak. He didn't like it. but he ate the whole thing so next time we might try a home cooked one with less pepper on it. BUT the fact is he's EATING other things and trying them out. I'm very excited and happy about this. So YAY Jacob!!!
Catherine is talking more and becoming more and more stubborn and ...well I don't know what else. She can still be my Sweet baby girl and I love her more every time she comes up to me and looks me in my eyes...but then she goes around and does something that makes me want to yank my hair out. She is my angel with enough devil in her to drive a saint to drink. And she's mine. As my mother pointed out to me the other day when I was lamenting on the fact that my daughter doesn't seem to want to listen to anyone...She is her mother's daughter. And I swear if I had her looks I could rule this world. She can walk into a room and captivate it, if she show chooses. I really think that when she starts going to fair, we're going to have to make her a fairy princess or a princess of some sort. Otherwise she's just not going to be happy.

okay I'm done for this morning...I'll try to get on and blog more often
